The Bausch & Lomb Laser

Widest Treatment Zone Available

Most lasers can treat an area of only 6-8mm in diameter with little or no smoothing at the edges of the treatment area. This can be a problem at night or under other low light conditions when the pupil can grow to as much as twice its normal size extending it beyond the treatment zone of other lasers. The results can be glare and halos at night. The Bausch & Lomb laser addresses this problem by providing the widest possible treatment area. An additional blend zone allows Dr. Starck to smooth the corrected area into the rest of the cornea, helping to maintain its natural shape.

The Precision of the 2mm Beam

Most other lasers have been adapted for LASIK from technology originally designed for PRK (Photorefractive Keratectomy). Some of these lasers use a modified broad beam (about 6mm in diameter) with an aperture that controls the amount of the beam that is exposed to the eye during any single pulse. Some manufacturers have refined this technology by splitting the single broad beam into seven smaller beams that are rotated around the treatment area (similar to how a showerhead splits the main water stream into smaller streams). The Bausch & Lomb Laser, with its narrow 2mm beam literally dances across the cornea with the art and precision of a masterful ballet performance. Dr. Starck uses the laser’s rapid pattern to create the desired correction, blending the treated area smoothly into the surrounding cornea for an unmatched final result. Safely. Comfortably.

The Difference is Night & Day

The Details
The subtle and beautiful details
in life are often hard to see. LASIK with the Bausch and Lomb Laser can give you the ability to see detail you may
have forgotten existed.
Rich Texture
What looked normal to you for
so long is actually a somewhat muted representation. After LASIK with the
Bausch & Lomb Laser most people
see a full range of life’s rich textures.
Night Vision Clarity
Poor night vision results such as glare and halos have been reported by some patients after the LASIK procedure. The Bausch & Lomb Laser can reduce the potential for glare and halos under low light conditions.

Safety and Assurance is Always First!

Bausch & Lomb has the highest standards for procedural safety and results. These standards come from an understanding of LASIK and your personal questions, concerns and vision goals. This is why we stress consultation and proper diagnostics as the first step.

Diagnostics

A complete understanding of the entire condition of your eyes is essential. We believe this is so fundamental to safety and quality results that Dr. Starck will advise you at this stage as to whether or not you are a good candidate for LASIK and why.

Results That Count!

The Bausch & Lomb Laser is designed solely for the LASIK procedure and Dr. Starck is an experienced surgeon in its use. Dr. Starck and The Bausch & Lomb Laser can provide you with an unmatched result. Safely. Comfortably. The kind of results you want…results that count!
